In 2008, the Pleasant Hills Fire Company had its first Memorial Ceremony to remember those that died during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  The PHVFC continued that this year by holding another ceremony. 

Guests included members of the Jefferson Hills 885 Area VFC, the Pleasant Hills American Legion, Father Kevin McKnight of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Samantha Middlemiss, a representative of State Representative Bill Kortz, and residents of Pleasant Hills and the surrounding communities.
