No prior firefighting experience is necessary. We provide all necessary training, but a strong commitment to serving the community is essential.
We offer comprehensive in-house training as well as state-certified programs, starting with Essentials of Firefighting. This 4-part program covers the basics of being a firefighter. Once you complete this program, there are many additional training programs available for you to participate in throughout your career.
Volunteers are expected to participate in weekly drills, regular training sessions, and respond to calls at all hours of the day. While we understand this is a volunteer organization and you will have other responsibilities in your life such as work, family, and personal time, we look for individuals who are able to commit to the mission of the fire company.
Volunteer firefighters are not paid. However, we do offer part-time day shifts that you can sign up for once you have the minimum required training. During these shifts, you will perform administrative functions and check various equipment. We provide training, equipment, and other benefits. Volunteering with us offers a rewarding opportunity to serve the community and gain valuable skills.
There are several ways to support us if volunteering isn’t for you. You can make a donation, participate in fundraising events, or help with community outreach efforts. Visit our Support Us Page for more information on how you can contribute.
